-Descripcion Original:
From School Library Journal PreSchool-I kiss your small hands/as you reach for my face,/I kiss your sweet neck-/its my favorite place. So starts this lovely book as soft, gentle, meticulous illustrations in pastel corals, blues, and tans depict animal mothers tenderly kissing their babies. The last pictures are of a human mother and her toddler reading a book and saying good night with a kiss. The text is rhythmic and beautifully descriptive, listing places to be kissed that can apply to human as well as animal babies. Winters art is reminiscent of Susan Jefferss work and, with the poetic text, makes a special bedtime book for one-on-one sharing. Judith Constantinides, formerly at East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library, LA Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information, Inc. There are many ways to say I love you to a child, and now way is sweeter than with a kiss. Every mother knows small hands, a plump tummy, tiny fingers, and wiggling toes all beg to be kissed time and time again. Margaret Anastass loving rhyme and Susan Winters gentle illustrations of animal mamas and their adorable babies will make this a family favorite. About the Author Margaret Anastas is the coauthor of the New York Times best-seller Thanksgiving is For Giving Thanks. She has worked in childrens books for many years and lives in Pelham, New York, with her husband, Greg, and their two children, Owen and Zoe.
