Pikaza). About the Author CARL FRIEDRICH KEIL, Escriturista luterano nacido en Lauterbach, Sajonia, (Alemania). Estudio teologia en las universidades de Dorpat y Berlin. En 1833 acepto la catedra de lenguas orientales y exegesis del Antiguo y Nuevo Testamento en Dorpat. En 1859 se traslado a Leipzig, donde se dedico al estudio y a los asuntos internos de su Iglesia.Pertenecio a la escuela ortodoxa y conservadora de la teologia luterana, contribuyendo, junto a Hengstenberg, a dar forma al pensamiento pastoral luterano en las provincias balticas durante un cuarto de siglo. Se opuso al criticismo biblico de la epoca, defendiendo la infalibilidad de la literatura biblica en cuanto Palabra inspirada por Dios.Colaboro con Franz Delitzsch en el famoso Biblischer Commentar uber das Alte Testament (1861-1875), un comentario al texto hebreo del Antiguo Testamento. Escribio los comentarios de Genesis a Ester, Jeremias, Ezequiel, Daniel y los Profetas menores. Tambien escribio comentarios sobre los libros de Macabeos, Mateo, Marcos, Lucas, Juan, las cartas de Pedro, Judas y Hebreos. Su comentario a Genesis es considerado como uno de los mejores existentes en todas las lenguas. Defiende la paternidad literaria de Moises, pero dando lugar a una redaccion final durante el periodo postexilico.
