Review Big fat rhythm & blues are back in style and Blue Lunchs got em! Terry Stewart -- President, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & MuseumEyes Wide Open is stylish without sounding over-styled, respectful to the music of the 40s and 50s. -- Akron Beacon Journal, May 1999The only band in the tri-state area that could attempt a chestnut like Sixty Minute man and nail it. -- Free Times, April 3, 2001 Not Live at the Copa is the third release from Blue Lunch, the blues/jump/swing band from Cleveland, OH. A bit more bluesy than their last relese, Eyes Wide Open, Copa features fourteen swingin cuts ranging from the classic r&b sound of Wynonnie Harris and Big Joe Turner, to New Orleans influenced music, to hard core Chicago Blues. About the Artist Is Blue Lunch a Blues band or a Swing band? Wed like to think that we dont fit neatly into either catagory. Heres what we hope will be the definitive answer: The late 1940s and early 1950s were a magical time in American musical history, when blues, rhythm & blues, swing, and rock & roll were all one thing. What we most enjoy is to explore that music and to try and make it our own.
