It is based on an original story by Maylam, Harvey Weinstein, and Brad Grey, with a musical score by Rick Wakeman. The film is loosely based on the upstate New York urban legend of Cropsey, a tale that became popular at summer camps in the 1960s and 70s. In the film, a summer camp caretaker named Cropsy who was horribly disfigured from a prank gone wrong is released from the hospital with severe deformities and seeks revenge with garden shears on those he holds responsible, starting with the kids at a nearby summer camp. Lou David stars as the maniacal Cropsy, while Brian Matthews plays Todd, the camp counselor that must stop him. Stephen Ralteri writes: The soundtrack from the movie The Burning is on side two of this album, with side one featuring The Wakeman Variations on some of the same material. With the exception of the End Title Theme, the soundtrack is unusual for Wakeman, including some eerie ambient electronics, a horror story narrated by Brian Matthews, and two tracks on which Wakeman doesnt play, one a country-rock tune featuring banjo and pedal steel guitar. A contemplative piece of work and as much a meditation as a musical piece. A lot of energy can be felt throughout this album and lead vocalist Chrissie Hammond has a strong presence, supported by Ricks synthesizer and backing choir singers. Wakeman had previously written a religious album, The Gospels, and this is generally considered his follow-up. It appeared on Hope Records, a small label that also cut production. According to his own words, only 5000 copies would be pressed, but Rick feels that there were probably more.     -Titulo Original : Audio CD - PIANO VIBRATIONS - Rick Wakeman-Fabricante : Rraw-Descripcion Original: CD reissue. This is a very peculiar, nay controversial, part of the Rick Wakeman canon. In 1971 Rick Wakeman was one of the hottest properties in rock music. Wakeman was born in West London. He purchased his first electronic keyboard at 12 years of age. In 1968 he studied the piano, clarinet, orchestration and modern music at the Royal College of Music before leaving after a year in favor of session music work. He went on to feature on songs by artists including Black Sabbath, David Bowie, T. Rex, Elton John and Cat Stevens. Wakeman joined the folk group Strawbs in 1969 and played on three of their albums. He first joined Yes in 1971 to replace Tony Kaye and became a superstar. Then, out of the blue came this record. Piano Vibrations, though promoted in its re-release as the first studio album by English progressive rock keyboardist Rick Wakeman, is not considered a Wakeman album, even by himself. His contributions were limited to performing as a session musician and he did not compose any of the tracks. He says: This was never meant to be a solo album and to be honest I certainly dont count it as a solo album in any respect. True it is a piece of history, but not one Im proud of. I was actually booked to play piano on a session at Pye Studios in Londons Marble Arch and it was to play on some backtracks for an unknown singer who was due in later that week to put his vocals on. Shortly afterwards I started having some success with Strawbs and the next thing we knew was that the album was being put out by PYE Records as Piano Vibrations with no vocalist and with a picture of me on the back. I was unhappy and A&M Records, who had Strawbs and myself signed, were furious. I received £9 for my trouble...

Dave Cable writes: I believe 2000AD was hailed as one the most stylish and dynamic synth albums ever made. Many years and hundreds of albums later I feel that it still is and as a result it is a more than fitting title for such an immense body of work. Rick may well have ditched his cape in the pseudo-digital time tunnel but the wizard was still out there and in control. 2000AD confidently runs through a wide range of musical styles while offering a fair amount of pleasant surprises along the way. 2000AD is quintessential Wakeman doing what he does best and on his own terms.
